Bayou Blast Wings

I fired up my Char-Broil Big Easy oil-less fryer, made these fabulous spicy Bayou Blast wings with a dipping sauce, and kicked back and enjoyed a great meal. There’s a little heat from the wings, but not too much. They’re nicely sauced, but not overly saucy. You know what I mean. No one wants wings that are swimming in a pool of sauce. You want just enough for flavor, enough to get your fingers messy. Them’s good wings.

Bayou Blast Wings

I’ll eat wings any time, anywhere, but wings like these Bayou Blast wings off my Char-Broil Big Easy are one of my favorites. It is the easiest tool in my grilling stable, though technically it isn’t a grill at all. It’s a load-and-go cooker so it doesn’t require constant attention or checking. I also love cooking wings in my air fryer, or on my charcoal grill. Or in the deep fryer. Or on the gas grill. Ok, I’ll eat wings cooked on anything!

House of Wings Hot Wings

Alliger’s House of Wings is a highly-rated establishment located in Sayre, PA, halfway between Elmira and Owego NY. It’s definitely on my to-visit list because let me tell you, their wing sauces are insanely good. I recently ordered a bottle of every single one. This time I dug into the House of Wings hot wings sauce. Traditional Buffalo wing flavors with a good bit of kick. But not too much kick.

House of Wings Hot Wings

House of Wings’ hot wing sauce doesn’t pack so so much heat that that is all you get. You also get really great flavor. This is another great wing sauce from House of Wings. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Quaker Steak ‘N Lube Buckeye BBQ Wings

Quaker Steak ‘N Lube has some crazy good wing sauces. From the mild to the insane, from traditional Buffalo to Asian sesame, they have you covered no matter your heat or taste preferences. Quaker Steak ‘N Lube Buckeye BBQ wings sauce is a bit on the spicy side. But it’s also a bit sweet. Nice and smooth, it’s the perfect sauce not only for wings, but also for anything you slather with BBQ sauce. Like grilled chicken, burgers, or ribs. Or drizzle it on some pulled pork or sliced brisket. It’s a great all-around BBQ sauce, despite having ‘wing’ in its name.

Quaker Steak 'N Lube Buckeye BBQ Wings

So why the name? Does Quaker Steak ‘N Lube Buckeye BBQ wings sauce contain buckeyes, the chestnut-looking nut often associated with Ohio? Well, I don’t think so, but it was named the preferred sauce of Ohio State. And Quaker Steak ‘N Lube was founded in Ohio. So, I’m guessing that explains the name! No matter what, it’s a great sauce.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Joey Chestnut Orange Citrus Habanero Wings

Man, what a great wing sauce. When I first ran across a display of Joey Chestnut Orange Citrus Habanero wing sauce my first reaction was ‘now that’s different’. I’ve tried a few of Joey’s wing flavors, and they’ve all been crazy good. This one is no exception. It goes on a bit creamy, but not too thick. There’s a wonderful orange flavor that mixes perfectly with the nice kick of habanero pepper. It’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s mighty delicious and not too terribly spicy. I’m a big fan of this sauce.

Joey Chestnut Orange Citrus Habanero Wings

Sometimes I prefer to make my wings ‘dry’, that is without any sauce. I can then dip them in whatever sauces I have on hand, not limiting myself to just one flavor. Joey Chestnut Orange Citrus Habanero wing sauce is great for dipping too, so don’t just think you need to toss your wings in it. It has just the right consistency for dipping or tossing. Or both.

Stubb’s Wicked Habanero Pepper Wings

Sometimes when you try a taste of a hot sauce or wing sauce you’re like “whoa, that’s hot!”. I was like that when I first tasted Stubb’s Wicked Habanero Pepper wing sauce. It had some mighty good kick, but mighty good flavor. On wings, though, it was absolutely fantastic. The heat wasn’t as hot, but that great flavored got even better. I absolutely loved this sauce.

Stubb's Wicked Habanero Pepper Wings

I’ve tried other sauces (for other than wings) from Stubb’s and I’ve been really happy with them. And even though Stubb’s Wicked Habanero Pepper wing sauce says ‘wing sauce’ on the label, I’d argue that it’d be great on steaks too. In fact, that’s what I’m going to do next.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

House of Wings Honey Mustard Wings

Alliger’s House of Wings is a highly-rated establishment located in Sayre, PA, halfway between Elmira and Owego NY. It’s definitely on my to-visit list because let me tell you, their wing sauces are insanely good. I recently ordered a bottle of every single one. House of Wings honey mustard wings sauce is a really nice balance of the tang of mustard with a little sweet. I often find myself leery of mustard wing sauce. Sometimes the mustard is so overwhelming you can’t taste anything else. Not so here, this sauce strikes the perfect balance.

House of Wings Honey Mustard Wings

House of Wings honey mustard wings sauce is finger-licking good. Brush it on roasted chicken, or grilled pork too. It’s also great as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. Much better than that questionable stuff in the packets.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Palace Sauce Spicy Garlic Wings

I am not one to click on ads on social media. Like most people, I scroll on, never even noticing. Except this time. I saw an ad for new (to me) wing sauces from a place called the Wing Palace out of Jacksonville, FL. The sauces looked absolutely yummy in the pics. I had to. So I did. I ordered two bottles of each of their flavors. The second sauce I tried was the spicy garlic. This sauce is thick, but not too thick. It’s spicy, but I’d call it medium. And it’s definitely garlicky. It’s finger-licking fantastic. I’m starting to think that the Wing Palace could also sell their wing sauces as drinks, because I’m always tempted to just drink them they’re sooooo good!

Palace Sauce Spicy Garlic Wings

As a big lover of all wing sauces, sweet, savory or spicy, I could not have been happier with the Palace Sauce Spicy Garlic wing sauce. And I can see using this sauce on a lot more than wings. It’d be great on grilled burgers or pork chops.

Joey Chestnut Creamy Green Hatch and Jalapeno Wings

I was intrigued when I came across a display of Joey Chestnut’s wing sauces at Jungle Jim’s outside of Cincinnati. All of the flavors sounded unique and awesome. I ended up making a batch of wings with Joey Chestnut Creamy Green Hatch and Jalapeno Wings Sauce first, and boy, let me tell you, this is a crazy good wing sauce. And it’s definitely different. It has just the right kick, the right spiciness. But the star is the green Hatch chile flavor. Man, it’s good.

This sauce is also great on taco salads. And tacos.

Joey Chestnut Creamy Green Hatch and Jalapeno Wings

Joey Chestnut Creamy Green Hatch and Jalapeno Wings Sauce is nice and creamy. At first you might think it’s a bit thick. But as soon as it hits those hot wings it gets nice and perfect. It sticks to the wings, but it isn’t overly thick, either. It’s definitely finger-licking good.

Remember that if you have to refrigerate your open bottle of wing sauce to let it sit out on the counter for at least 30 minutes before using. You don’t want to ‘shock’ hot, just-cooked wings with a cold sauce.

Hogs ‘N Heat Hot Wings

Start with a really great BBQ sauce. Add hot sauce and butter. Boom! You’ve got a great wing sauce! That’s essentially what Hogs ‘N Heat did when they created their crazy-good hot wing sauce. This unique sauce (with a nice spicy kick!) really makes for a delicious batch of wings. Hogs ‘N Heat hot wings sauce is also great as a BBQ sauce, so put it on everything!

Hogs 'N Heat Hot Wings

Hogs ‘N Heat hot wing sauce got me to thinking more and more about taking any bottled BBQ sauce I can find in my pantry (or the store) and turning it into a wing sauce in just seconds. What a great, simple idea!

Also try some Cravin’ Cajun wings.

Kroger Medium Buffalo Wings

I’ve said it before. If you’re standing in the wing sauce section of the grocery store, trying to decide on the next sauce you’re going to grab for a great batch of wings, do not hesitate to try the store brand. I was at Kroger, and I couldn’t help myself. I grabbed one each of every one of their sauces, including the Kroger Medium Buffalo Wings Sauce. The sauce turned out to be perfect! A decent hint of heat and the perfect consistency. This is a mighty fine wing sauce, and boy, the price was right!

Kroger Medium Buffalo Wings

If you by chance end up with any leftover Kroger’s medium Buffalo wings sauce, toss it in the fridge. Make sure you warm it a bit (at least to room temperature) before using it on your next batch of wings. Nothing makes hot wings sad faster than tossing them in cold wing sauce!
